Sabudana Coconut Laddoo

·         2 cups sago (sabudana)

·         1 cup desiccated coconut

·         2 tbsps ghee

·         8-10 cashewnuts, roughly chopped

·         ½ tsp green cardamom powder

·         ¼ tsp nutmeg (jaiphal) powder

·         1½ cups powdered sugar

·         ½ cup melted ghee




1.      Dry roast sago in a non-stick pan on medium heat till it turns golden brown. Transfer the sago onto a large plate and allow to cool.  

2.      Dry roast the desiccated coconut in the same pan till it turns light golden. Transfer onto another large plate and allow to cool completely.

3.      Heat 2 tbsps ghee in the same pan. Add cashewnuts and roast till a light golden.

4.      Put the cooled roasted sago into a blender jar and blend to a fine powder. Transfer this on to the same large plate as the desiccated coconut. Add the roasted cashewnuts, green cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and powdered sugar and mix well.

5.      Add the melted ghee and mix well.

6.      Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into balls and arrange them on a serving plate.

7.      Serve.
