Ingredients
- 1 cup almond flour
- ¼ cup dried figs (anjeer) paste
- 4-5 dried figs (anjeer), chopped
- ¼ cup milk
- 6-8 saffron strands
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons ghee + to grease
- ¼ teaspoon green cardamom powder
Method
- Heat milk and saffron in a non-stick pan, add and once the milk comes to a boil, add powdered sugar and mix well till the sugar dissolves.
- Add almond flour and mix well. Add dried figs paste and mix. Cook on low heat for 5-6 minutes or till the mixture starts to leave the edges of the pan.
- Add ghee and green cardamom powder and mix well. Add chopped dried figs and mix well.
- Transfer into a plate and allow to cool down to room temperature.
- Grease a modak mould with some ghee, fill some of the prepared mixture in it. Press well and demould. Continue making more modaks with the remaining mixture.
- Arrange the modaks on a serving platter, garnish with silver varq and serve.
