Ingredients

  • 1½ cups yogurt (dahi)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 dried red chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • Fresh coriander sprig for garnish

Method

  1. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds and once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds, ginger and green chillies, mix and sauté for 1 minute.
  2. Add onion, mix and sauté till golden brown.
  3. Add dried red chillies, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well. Add yogurt, mix and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
