Ingredients
- Processed cheese as required
- 8 white bread slices
- 1½ tablespoons oil
- 1½ tablespoons crushed ginger-garlic-green chillies
- Salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 3 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Butter for applying
- Green chutney for applying + to serve
- Onion roundels as required
- Tomato roundels as required
- Boiled beetroot roundels as required
- Sandwich masala for sprinkling
- Sev for sprinkling
- Tomato ketchup to serve
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add crushed ginger-garlic-green chilies and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Add salt and turmeric powder, mix well and saute for 1 minute.
- Add boiled potatoes and coriander leaves, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and let it cool.
- Apply butter on 4 slices of bread, apply green chutney over each slice and spread a portion of the potato mixture over each slice. Place a few onion roundels, tomato roundels, boiled beetroot roundels, sprinkle sandwich masala and grate cheese over it. Place remaining bread slices on top to make sandwiches. Apply some butter over them.
- Grease a toaster with some butter and place one sandwich in it, close and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, flip and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes.
- Place the sandwich on a worktop and cut into 4 triangles. Similarly toast the remaining sandwiches.
- Place the sandwich triangles on serving plates, apply some more butter on top, grate some processed cheese and sprinkle sev. Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
