Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon saffron
- 2 tablespoons warm milk
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup castor sugar
- 1 cup refined flour (maida)
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon green cardamom powder
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180° C.
- Take milk in a bowl, add saffron and set aside.
- Break eggs into a bowl and beat lightly. Add castor sugar gradually and beat till light and fluffy.
- Sift refined flour, baking powder, salt and green cardamom powder directly into the bowl and beat till well incorporated.
- Add saffron milk and beat well.
- Transfer the mixture into a piping bag and pipe into madeleine moulds.
- Keep the mould in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Bring the mould out of the oven and set aside to cool.
- Unmould the madeleines, arrange them in a serving bowl and serve.
