Ingredients
- 1 cup-soaked split skinless green gram (dhuli moong dal)
- ½ cup-soaked split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
- 3-4 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 cup shredded spinach leaves
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1½ teaspoons red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 1¼ cups gram flour (besan)
- Oil for deep frying
- Green chutney for serving
Method
- Take split skinless green gram in a bowl, add split skinless black gram, coriander leaves, garlic, green chillies, spinach, onion, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and mix well.
- Add gram flour and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dip your palms in water, take small portions of the mixture and flatten slightly. Slide them gently into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with green chutney.
