Ingredients
- 3-4 medium tomatoes
- Oil for brushing
- 2-3 green chillies, chopped
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Brush some oil on each tomato and cook them on a steel wire rack over direct flame. Rotate them every now and then till they are well charred all around. Transfer into cold water, and peel the tomatoes.
- Peel the tomatoes and roughly chop them. Transfer them into a mortar, add green chillies, garlic, ginger, salt, mustard oil and coriander leaves and crush coarsely with a pestle.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve with litti, chokha and litti chokha dal.
