Ingredients
- 1 cup refined flour (maida)
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup castor sugar
- ½ cup melted ghee
- ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon instant dried yeast
- Egg yolk for brushing
- White sesame seeds to sprinkle
- Tea for serving
Method
- Break egg into a bowl, add castor sugar and mix well till sugar dissolves. Add ghee and mix well.
- Sift refined flour, cardamom powder, salt, baking powder and yeast together into the egg mixture. Knead to form soft dough. Cover and set aside to prove for 1 hour or till it doubles in volume.
- Preheat oven to 220⁰ C.
- Divide the dough in 8 equal portions and flatten them slightly. Arrange them on a baking tray, brush egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
- Arrange them in a serving basket and serve with tea.
