Ingredients
- 15-20 ripe jackfruit arils, seeded
- ⅓ cup grated jaggery
- ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- 1 cup idli rawa
- A pinch of salt
- Banana leaves as required
- Ghee for greasing
- Slivered almonds to sprinkle
Method
- Put the jackfruit arils in a blender jar, add jaggery and blend to a fine paste.
- Transfer the paste into a deep pan, add green cardamom powder and idli rawa and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Set aside for 25-30 minutes.
- Heat sufficient water in a steamer.
- Grease banana leaves with some ghee and spread a portion of jackfruit mixture on each leaf. Sprinkle almonds, fold the other side over and place on the perforated steamer plate. Cover the steamer and steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from the leaves, arrange on a serving plate and serve.
