Ingredients
- 750 grams boneless chicken leg, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2-3 tablespoons mustard oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons red chilli powder
- 1½ teaspoons meat masala
- 1½ tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 green chillies, diagonally sliced
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Steamed rice to serve
Method
- Heat mustard oil in a non-stick pan. Once it starts to smoke, add cumin seeds. Once they start to change colour, add chicken pieces, mix and sauté on high heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Add coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, meat masala and ginger-garlic paste, mix well and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Reduce heat to medium, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 6-8 minutes.
- Add green chillies, onions and coriander leaves, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot with steamed rice.
