Ingredients list for Turai Keema Mirch

  • 3 medium Ridge Gourds peeled
  • 1/2 kilogram Mutton Mince
  • 7-8 Green chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 4 Bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 3 medium Onions halved
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried mango powder (amchur)
  • to taste Salt
  • for garnishing A fresh mint sprig

Method

  1. Finely chop onions in a chopper.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaves and sauté till fragrant.
  3. Add ginger and garlic and saute for a minute. Roughly chop green chillies, add to the pan and sauté for a minute. Add onions and sauté till light golden.
  4. Cut the ridge gourd into 1 inch cubes and add to the pan. Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, dried mango powder, salt and mutton mince and mix well.
  5. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or till the mince is fully cooked.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with a mint sprig and serve hot.
