By Sanjeev Kapoor 21 Jul 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Tomatoes, coriander leaves Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Tomato Saar 4 Tomatoes pressure cooked for 3-4 whistles 8-10 sprigs coriander leaves 7-8 Garlic cloves 1 inch Ginger 1-2 Green chillies 1 tablespoon Ghee 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds a pinch Asafoetida 7-9 Curry leaves 1 tablespoon Sugar to taste Salt Method Grind together coriander sprigs, garlic, ginger and green chillies along with some water to a fine paste. Transfer in a bowl and set aside. Grind tomatoes to a fine puree, strain into the prepared coriander paste and mix well. Add some water and mix well. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add turmeric powder to tomato mixture and mix well. Reduce heat of the pan, add cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves and let curry leaves crackle. Add the tomato mixture and mix well. Add sugar and salt, stir to mix, cover and cook on low heat for 5-7 minutes.
