Ingredients list for Tomato Bhaat
- 3 cups Cooked Rice
- 4 medium Tomatoes finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 7-8 Curry leaves
- 2 medium Onions finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Garam masala powder
- to taste Salt
- 4 Papads
- for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves chopped
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and saute for a minute.
- Add garlic and curry leaves and saute for two minutes. Add onions, mix and saute till the onions turn translucent.
- Add tomatoes, mix and cook till the tomatoes turn soft and pulpy.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well.
- Add rice and toss well. Cook till the rice gets heated through.
- Roast the papads on direct heat and immediately shape them into katoris.
- Fill the papad katoris with tomato bhaat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
