Ingredients list for Tadka Bread
- 6-8 Bread slices
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 2 Green chillies
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 5-7 Curry leaves
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- to taste Salt
- for garnishing Fresh coriander leaves 1-2 tablespoons + a spring
Method
- Roughly chop green chillies. Tear and grind the bread slices coarsely.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, chillies and curry leaves and mix well. Add onion, mix and sauté till golden.
- Add turmeric powder, sugar and salt and mix well. Add breadcrumbs and mix well.
- Add some water and mix well. Add coriander leaves, mix, cover and cook for 3-5 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with a coriander sprig.
