Ingredients for Spicy Noodles in a Bowl Recipe

  • Noodles boiled 200 grams

  • Oil 4 tablespoons

  • Onions chopped 1 cup

  • Garlic chopped 4 tablespoons

  • Ginger chopped 4 teaspoons

  • Soya granules soaked in warm water and drained 8 tablespoons

  • Spring onions 4

  • Red chilli paste 8 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Honey 4 tablespoons

  • Chilli oil 8 tablespoons

  • Vinegar 4 teaspoons

  • Sesame oil 4 teaspoons

Method

Step 1

For each portion, heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick wok, add ¼ cup onion, 1 tbsp garlic and 1 tsp ginger, mix and saute till lightly browned.

Step 2

Heat 2 cups water in a pan.

Step 3

When the onions soften, add 2 tbsps soya granules and mix. Add 2 tbsps water and mix.

Step 4

Add ¼ of the boiled noodles to hot water and let them get heated through.

Step 5

Slice 1 spring onion.

Step 6

Add 2 tsps red chilli paste to the wok, along with salt and ¼ cup water, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Add 1 tbsp honey and mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Add salt and 1 tbsp chilli oil to the noodles and mix. Lift the noodles from hot water and put into a serving bowl.

Step 8

Add 1 tsp vinegar to the soya mixture and mix. Add 1 tsp sesame oil and mix. Put this mixture over the noodles in the bowl.

Step 9

Garnish with spring onions, drizzle 1 tbsp chilli oil and serve immediately.
