Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Spaghetti Prawn Recheado - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Prawns (medium) shelled and deveined with tail intact 20-25

  • Spaghetti boiled 3 cups

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic cloves sliced 5-6

  • parmesan cheese 20 grams + for garnish

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Recheado masala

  • Dried red chillies soaked for 30 minutes 8-10

  • Garlic cloves 10-12

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Black peppercorns 6-8

  • Cumin seeds 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Tamarind paste 1 tablespoon

  • Malt vinegar 3 tablespoons


Step 1

Put red chillies in a blender jar, add garlic, ginger, black peppercorns, cumin seeds, sea salt, tamarind paste, malt vinegar and ¼ cup water and blend to a fine paste.

Step 2

Take prawns in a bowl, add salt and turmeric powder and mix well.

Step 3

Heat oil in a non-stick wok , add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add the ground recheado masala, mix well and saute till oil separates.

Step 4

Add prawns, mix well and cook till prawns are almost done. Add spaghetti and salt, toss well and cook for 3-4 minutes. Grate cheese on top. Add coriander leaves and toss well.

Step 5

Transfer into a serving bowl, grate parmesan cheese on top, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
