Ingredients
- 200 grams shrimp, washed
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled, peeled and grated
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Malvani masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1½ tablespoons fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 3 tablespoons rice flour
- ¾ teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 egg beaten
- Panko breadcrumbs as required
- Green chutney to serve
- Lemon wedges to serve
Method
- Take shrimp in a bowl, add potatoes, turmeric powder, green chillies, malvani masala, salt, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, coriander leaves and rice flour and mix well.
- Add red chilli powder and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a wok.
- Grease your hand with oil and take a portion of the shrimp mixture, shape it into a ball, slightly flatten it and make a hole in the center. Make more cakes similarly.
- Dip the shrimp cakes in egg coat them with panko and slide them into hot oil and, deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the cakes on a serving platter and serve hot with green chutney and lemon wedges.
