Ingredients list for Shepherd's Pie - SK Khazana
- 300 grams Mutton mince (keema)
- Potatoes mashed
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 2 medium Onions finely chopped
- 8-10 Garlic finely chopped
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Celery chopped
- 1 medium Tomato chopped
- 1 cup Tomato puree
- 2 medium Carrots peeled and cut into small cubes
- to taste Salt
- to taste Crushed black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup Peas blanched
- 1/2 cup Sweet corn kernels boiled
- for garnish Parsley springs
Method
- Heat oil in a deep pan, add onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger, mix well and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Add mutton mince, break lumps while mixing and sauté on high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add celery and tomato and mix well.
- Add tomato puree, mix and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add carrots and mix well.
- Preheat the oven to 180˚C.
- Add salt, crushed black peppercorns, oregano and Worcestershire sauce to the mince and mix well. Cover and cook till the mince is completely cooked.
- Add peas and sweet corn, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture into a shallow baking dish and spread evenly.,
- Transfer mashed potatoes into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle and pipe out over the mince till it is completely covered.
- Keep the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Take it out of the oven.
- Ladle out portions into individual serving plates, garnish with parsley sprig and serve hot.
