Ingredients list for Sev ki Sabzi

  • 1 cup Sev hard and thick
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion seeds (kalonji)
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 2-3 Cloves
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind pulp
  • 2 teaspoons Grated jaggery
  • 7-8 Fresh coriander sprigs
  • for garnishing Green capsicum strips

  1. Heat oil in a Wonderchef Granite Frying Pan, add asafoetida, onion seeds, cloves and onion, mix and sauté till the onion is lightly browned.
  2. Finely chop green chillies and add along with ½ cup water, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, tamarind pulp and jaggery. Mix well and bring the mixture to a boil.
  3. Add sev and mix well. Cook for a minute.
  4. Roughly chop coriander sprigs and add. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with capsicum strips and serve hot.
