Ingredients list for Indian Style Fish Croquettes
- 400 grams Rawas fillets
- to taste Salt
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- ½ cup Semolina (suji)
- ? cup Bread crumbs
- ¼ cup Dried coconut ( khopra) grated
- 3 medium Potatoes boiled, peeled and grated
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 2 Green chillies chopped
- 5-6 Curry leaves chopped
- 2 teaspoons Garam masala powder
- ¼ cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 1 Egg
- for dusting Refined flour (maida)
- for deep-frying Oil
Method
- Boil fish fillet with salt and ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder till done. Strain and gently flake the fish with a fork.
- Mix together semolina, breadcrumbs, coconut and salt on a plate.
- Mix together fish, potatoes, remaining turmeric powder, chilli powder, green chillies, curry leaves, garam masala powder, coriander leaves, onion and salt in a bowl.
- Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape them into croquettes.
- Beat egg with 2 tablespoon water in a bowl.
- Dust the croquettes with flour, dip in beaten egg and coat with semolina mixture.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry the croquettes till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup or tartar sauce.
