Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Hyderabadi Chicken-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Chicken cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone 750 grams

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • White sesame seeds 3 tablespoons

  • Peanuts 1/2 cup

  • Oil 1-2 tablespoons

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Green cardamoms 4-5

  • Garlic minced 1/2 tablespoon

  • Ginger minced 1/2 tablespoon

  • Large onion sliced 1

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped for garnish


Step 1

Put chicken in a bowl. Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, yogurt and lemon juice, mix well and set aside to marinate for 35-40 minutes.

Step 2

Dry roast sesame seeds and peanuts for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and blend to a smooth paste with 2-3 tablespoons water. Add a little more water if required.

Step 3

Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cinnamon, cardamoms, garlic, ginger, mix well and sauté for a few seconds.

Step 4

Add onion, mix and sauté till the onion is well browned.

Step 5

Add sesame-peanut paste, mix well and cook for a minute. Add a little water, mix and cook for a minute.

Step 6

Add marinated chicken, mix well and cook for a minute. Add salt and ¼ cup water, mix, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes.

Step 7

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
