Ingredients list for Green Peas And Potato Curry

  • 3/4 cup Green Peas shelled
  • 3 medium Potatoes cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup Coconut scraped
  • 4-5 Dried red chillies seeded
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
  • 7-8 Black peppercorns
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 Green chillies slit
  • 3-4 Kokum petals
  • 3/4 cup Coconut milk

Method

  1. Grind coconut, red chillies, coriander seeds and peppercorns to a smooth paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add curry leaves and sauté for two minutes. Add the potatoes and salt. Stir, cover and cook. Add turmeric powder and mix.
  3. Add green chillies, the ground masala and half a cup of water and mix well. Add green peas and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat till the potatoes and peas are done.
  4. Adjust salt, add kokum and simmer for two minutes. Add coconut milk and cook on low heat for five minutes. Rest the curry for about fifteen minutes before serving.
