Ingredients list for Goan Peas Coconut Pulao
- 1 cup Green peas
- 1/2 cup Coconut milk
- 1 1/2 cups Rice rice
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 4-5 Black peppercorns
- 2-3 Green cardamoms
- 1-2 Bay leaves
- 2-3 Cloves
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic-green chilli paste
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add peppercorns, cardamoms, bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, mix and sauté. Add onion, mix and sauté till translucent.
- Add rice, mix and sauté for a minute.
- Boil 2½ cups water in a microwave.
- Add peas to the rice and cook for a minute on high heat. Add salt and mix well. Add boiled water and stir to mix. Cover and cook till it boils. Reduce heat and cook for 5-6 minutes.
- Add coconut milk and mix well. Reduce heat, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add lemon juice and mix well.
- Serve hot garnished with a coriander sprig.
