Ingredients list for Ghee Rice-SK Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked and drained
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 2 Bay leaves
- 3 Green cardamoms
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1 Star anise
- 4-5 Cloves
- 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf)
- 1 teaspoon Ginger grated
- 6-8 Raisins
- 8-10 Cashewnuts
- 1 Large onion sliced
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- to taste Salt
- 1 sprig Curry leaves fried
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, fennel seeds and ginger, mix and sauté till fragrant.
- Add raisins, cashewnuts and onion and mix well. Cover and sauté till onions turn golden brown.
- Add curry leaves and mix. Add rice and mix well. Add 3 cups water, salt, mix, cover and cook till the rice is fully done.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with fried curry leaf sprig and serve.
