Ingredients
- 1 cup corn kernels, boiled
- 1 cup grated processed cheese
- 1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup gram flour (besan)
- 1 tablespoon red chilli paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Oil for deep-frying and greasing
- Yellow capsicum strips for garnishing
- Green capsicum strips for garnishing
- Fresh coriander sprigs for garnishing
- Green chutney for serving
Method
- Crush corn kernels slightly and put into a bowl. Add cheese, carom seeds, ginger, green chillies, turmeric powder and baking soda and mix well.
- Add onion, gram flour and red chilli paste and mix well. Add salt and coriander leaves and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Grease your palms with some Fortune Rice Bran Oil, divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into small balls.
- Deep-fry the balls in hot oil till half done. Remove from oil and fry once again on high heat till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Garnish with yellow and green capsicum strips, coriander sprigs and serve hot with green chutney.
