By Sanjeev Kapoor 08 Mar 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chicken Mince, Refined Flour Cuisine Indian, , , , Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 41-50 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Chicken Masala Pav 200 grams Chicken Mince for dusting Refined Flour 2 1/2 cups + Yeast 2 teaspoons (10 grams) 1 teaspoon Sugar to taste Salt for greasing Oil 2 tablespoons + 1 medium Onion chopped 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste 1 medium Tomato chopped 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder 2 teaspoons Lemon juice 1 Egg Black sesame seeds (kala til) for sprinkling Method Place yeast and sugar in a bowl. Add two tablespoons water, mix well and set aside to activate. Put flour on a worktop and make a well in the centre. Sprinkle salt all over. Heat two tablespoons oil in a non-stick pan, add onion and sauté till it turns golden. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Add tomato and mix well. Add salt, mix well and cook till tomato turns pulpy. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder, mix well and sauté. Add chicken, mix well and cook for five to six minutes. Add garam masala powder and lemon juice, mix well and cook for two minutes. Switch off the heat and set aside to cool. Pour the activated yeast mixture into the well in the flour, mix and knead into a soft dough with sufficient water. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside to ferment for twenty to twenty-five minutes. Preheat oven at 180°C. Grease a baking tray with little oil. Dust worktop with some flour and place the dough on it and roll. Divide dough into eight equal portions and shape them into balls. Dust the worktop again with flour and roll out the balls into medium sized discs. Place chicken mixture in the centre of each disc. Break egg into a bowl and whisk well. Brush the edges of the discs with whisked egg and fold the edges over to make a crescent shape. Seal the edges. Brush stuffed pavs with remaining egg and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. Place the pavs on the greased baking tray, keep the tray in the preheated oven and bake for twenty-twenty five minutes. Serve hot.
