Ingredients list for Arbi Tikki
- 12-14 Colocassia (arbi) boiled and peeled
- 1 Medium onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
- 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
- a few Fresh coriander sprigs
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon Chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
- 2-3 tablespoons Cornflour/ corn starch
- for shallow frying Oil
- to serve Tomato ketchup
Method
- Mash colocasia in a bowl. Add onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander sprigs, salt, cumin powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala, carom seeds and cornflour and mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into tikkis.
- Heat some oil on a non-stick tawa. Place tikkis on it and shallow-fry till golden brown from both the sides.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
