Ingredients list for Aloo Prawn Masala
- 3 Small potatoes cut into 1 cm cubes
- 16-20 Medium prawns shelled and deveined
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 2 Medium onions chopped
- 1 Medium tomato chopped
- 2 Green chillies slit
- 1/2 tablespoon Red chilli powder
- 2 teaspoons Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 5-6 Kokum petals
- to garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped
Method
- Take prawns in a bowl, add salt and ¼ tsp turmeric powder, mix well and set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add onions, mix and saute till golden brown in colour.
- Add potatoes, mix and sauté for a minute. Add tomatoes, green chillies and salt, mix and cook till soft.
- Add the red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, remaining turmeric powder and kokum and mix well. Add ½ cup of water, mix well and cook till the potatoes are almost done.
- Add marinated prawns, mix and cook till prawns are done. Add some coriander leaves and mix well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
