Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Pudina Hara Keema Recipe

  • Mutton mince 1 cup for garnish

  • Fresh mint 400 grams

  • Oil 3 tablespoon

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies roughly chopped 3

  • Onions sliced finely 3

  • Ginger paste 1 teaspoon

  • Garlic paste 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 8-10

  • Green cardamoms 5-6

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Egg,boiled and sliced 1


Step 1

Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non-stick kadai, add cumin seeds and sauté.

Step 2

Add green chillies, sliced onions and sauté till lightly browned. Mix mince and ½ cup water in a bowl.

Step 3

Add ginger paste and garlic paste to the pan and sauté for a minute. Add mint leaves and mix.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture into the mixer jar and set aside to cool. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan.

Step 5

Add cloves, green cardamoms and cinnamon and sauté till fragrant. Add mutton mince and sauté. Grind the mixture in the jar.

Step 6

Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder to the pan and mix. Add salt and mix.

Step 7

Add ground paste and continue to cook till the mince is done. Transfer into a serving bowl. Garnish with egg and mint leaves. Serve hot.
