Ingredients list for Mase Kalvan
- 3 Pomfrets cut into darnes
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- Coconut oil 1 tablespoon + for drizzling
- 1 teaspoon Garlic chopped
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Tamarind pulp
- 3/4 cup Coconut milk
- 2 Green chillies slit
Method
- Take the fish darnes on a plate. Add salt, turmeric powder and ginger-garlic paste and rub well.
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and asafoetida, mix well. Add chilli powder and coriander powder and mix well. Add ½ cup water and bring to a boil.
- Add fish, mix gently and cook on low heat for 1-2 minutes.
- Add tamarind pulp and mix well. Add coconut milk, mix and cook for a minute. Add green chillies and mix lightly.
- Serve hot.
