Ingredients list for Makai Aur Cornflakes Ki Bhurji

  • 2 cups Sweet corn kernels boiled and crushed
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour/ corn starch crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped
  • 2 medium Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2 medium Onions finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and once the seeds start changing colour, add asafoetida.
  2. Add green chilli and onions and sauté till translucent.
  3. Add tomatoes and sauté for four to five minutes or till the tomatoes become soft.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well.
  5. Sprinkle two tablespoons of water and cook for a minute. Add corn kernels and mix well. Cover and cook on low heat for four to five minutes.
  6. Add lemon juice and mix well.
  7. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves and cornflakes.
