Ingredients for Hare Moong ki Chaaswali Khichdi Recipe

  • Whole Moong soaked in water for 3-4 hours 1 1/2 cups

  • Buttermilk 2 1/2 cups

  • Rice soaked for ½ hour 1 cup

  • Ghee 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 4-5

  • Carrots cut into 1 inch pieces 2 medium

  • Cauliflower florets cut into small florets 4-6 medium

  • Green chillies slit 3-4

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and cloves and sauté for a minute. Add carrots, cauliflower, moong, green chillies, turmeric powder and rice.

Step 2

Mix well and add chaas and salt. Mix well, cover and cook till 2 whistles are given out. Lower heat and cook for 5-10 minutes more. Serve hot.
