By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 May 2020 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Potatoes , Urad dal wadis Cuisine Punjabi,Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Aloo Wadiyan - SK Khazana 3 medium Potatoes peeled 5-6 Urad dal wadis 4 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped 1 large Onion finely chopped 1 cup Fresh tomato puree 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder to taste Salt 3 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped for garnish Fresh coriander sprigs Method Cut the potatoes in wedges and set aside. Lightly crush the wadis in a mortar and pestle. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add the wadis and saute till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Add ginger to the oil remaining in the cooker and saute for a few seconds. Add onion, mix well and saute till golden brown. Add tomato puree, mix well and saute for 3-4 minutes or till oil separates. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder, mix well and saute for 1 minute. Add ½ cup water and mix. Add potato wedges, fried wadis, salt and coriander leaves and mix well. Add ½ cup water, mix well, cover the cooker and cook under pressure till 3-4 whistles are released. Open the lid of the cooker once the pressure reduces completely.
