Ingredients
- 300 grams red and green fresh radish pods (moongre), cut into 3 inch pieces
- Salt to taste
- 1½ tablespoons oil
- 6-8 garlic cloves, sliced
- ½ inch ginger, cut into thin strips
- 2 green chillies, slit
- 1 large onion, sliced
- White pepper powder to taste
- 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- Toasted white sesame seeds to sprinkle
Method
- Boil sufficient water in a deep non-stick pam, add salt and radish pods and blanch for 2 minutes.
- Drain the pods and transfer into chilled water so as to avoid over cooking.
- Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add garlic and sauté till golden brown. Add ginger, green chillies and onion, mix and sauté on high heat for 2 minutes.
- Drain the blanched radish pods and add to the wok. Add salt, white pepper powder, light soy sauce and sugar and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.
- Switch off the heat and add vinegar and coriander leaves and mix well.
- Transfer onto a serving plate, sprinkle white sesame seeds on top and serve hot.
