Raw Banana And Sweet Potato Tikki

Ingredients

  • 2 medium raw bananas, boiled, peeled and grated
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, boiled, peeled and grated
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin power
  • 1½ teaspoons chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • Dried breadcrumbs for coating
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method

  1. Take raw bananas in a bowl, add sweet potatoes, ginger, green chillies, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and coriander leaves and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape into tikkis.
  3. Spread dried breadcrumbs in a plate. Roll each tikki in it.
  4. Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick shallow pan, place the tikkis in it and shallow-fry, turning sides, till evenly golden brown on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
  5. Transfer onto a serving plate and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
