Ingredients
- 4 cups sugarcane juice
- ½ cup short grain rice, soaked for 30 minutes and drained
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- ½ teaspoon green cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron
- 2-3 tablespoons chopped cashewnuts
- 2-3 tablespoons slivered almonds + for garnish
- 2 tablespoons ghee
Method
- Heat a non-stick pan, add sugarcane juice and bring it to a boil. Discard the impurities.
- Add rice, raisins, green cardamom powder and saffron, mix well and cook for 10-15 minutes or till the rice is completely cooked.
- Add cashewnuts, almonds and ghee and mix well.
- Transfer into serving bowls, garnish with slivered almonds and serve hot.
