Ingredients
- 300 grams boiled raw jackfruit (kathal)
- 2-3 tablespoons chopped onion
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- ¾ cup fresh breadcrumbs
- Oil for deep frying
- Green chutney to serve
Method
- Put the boiled raw jackfruit into a blender jar and blend to a coarse paste. Transfer into a bowl. Add onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and fresh breadcrumbs and mix well.
- Take small portions of the mixture and shape each portion into a ball. Fatten each ball to shape it like a tikki.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the tikkis, a few at a time, and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the tikkis on a serving plate and serve hot with green chutney.
