Ingredients
- ½ small bunch of green garlic bulbs with stalks
- 1 garlic bread loaf
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ teaspoon dried red chilli flakes + for sprinkling
- Salt to taste
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- ½ cup grated mixed cheese
Method
- Preheat oven to 180º C.
- Take butter in a bowl.
- Finley chop both green garlic bulbs and stalks. Reserve some chopped green garlic stalks and add the rest to the butter, along with red chilli flakes, salt and crushed black peppercorns and mix well.
- Halve the garlic loaf vertically, apply some butter on one side of both the halves. Sprinkle ¼ cup cheese over each half of the loaf, sprinkle the reserved green garlic stalks and dried red chilli flakes. Place the bread halves on a lined baking tray.
- Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Bring the baking tray out of the oven and transfer the green garlic bread on a serving plate and serve hot.
