Ingredients
- 10-15 green garlic bulbs
- 2 green chillies, broken
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- ½ cup sorghum (jowar) flour
- ½ cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
- 10-15 green garlic stalks, finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for drizzling
- Tomato ketchup to serve
Method
- Put green garlic bulbs in a blender jar, add green chillies and blend to a coarse paste.
- Take gram flour in a large bowl, add sorghum flour, whole wheat flour, blended paste, green garlic stalks, carom seeds, turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
- Add 1½ cups water in batches and mix till a lump free batter is formed.
- Heat a non-stick tawa. Add a ladleful of batter and spread it lightly to a disc. Drizzle some oil all around and cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat. Flip and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes as well. Make more cheelas with the remaining batter.
- Keep the cheelas on individual plates and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
