Ingredients
- 3 cups thin pressed rice (patla poha)
- 10-12 fresh coriander sprigs
- 3-4 green chillies, broken
- 1 inch ginger, roughly chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- ¾ cup roasted split Bengal gram (daaliya)
- Black salt to taste
- ½ lemon
- ¾ cup scraped fresh coconut + to sprinkle
- Nylon sev to sprinkle
- Sugarcane juice to serve
Method
- Put coriander sprigs in a grinder jar, add green chillies, ginger and cumin seeds and grind to fine mixture without adding any water.
- Add roasted Bengal gram and grind to coarse mixture. Transfer into a bowl, add black salt, squeeze lemon and mix well. Add ½ cup coconut and mix well. Divide some mixture into 3-4 small equal portions and roll into balls.
- Take poha in a bowl. Add remaining ground mixture and remaining coconut and crush well.
- Transfer into a serving bowl, sprinkle some coconut and sev on top and serve with the spice mix balls and sugarcane juice.
