Ingredients list for Tomato Rice-SK Khazana
- 1 1/2 cups Tomatoes finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked and drained
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped
- 1 Large onion finely chopped
- to taste Salt
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup Green peas
- 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
- for garnish Fresh coriander sprig
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till the seeds change colour.
- Add ginger and garlic, mix and sauté well. Add onions, mix and sauté till translucent.
- Add tomatoes and mix. Add salt, mix well, cover and cook till soft and pulpy.
- Add chilli powder and garam masala powder, mix well, cover and cook till the ghee separates.
- Add green peas, coriander leaves, rice, 3 cups water and salt, mix, cover and cook till rice is fully done.
- Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
