Suji Cake Semolina mixed with spiced yogurt and cooked in a pan with temperings By Sanjeev Kapoor 10 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Semolina, Yogurt Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Suji Cake 1 cup Semolina 1 cup Yogurt 1/2 tablespoon Ginger paste 1/2 tablespoon Green chilli paste a pinch Turmeric powder to taste Salt 1/4 tablespoon Soda bicarbonate 2 tablespoon Oil 1/4 tablespoon Mustard seeds 1/4 tablespoon Cumin seeds 10-12 Curry leaves 1 large Onion chopped as required Tomato sauce Fresh coriander leaves chopped as required Nylon sev Method In a large bowl mix together semolina, yogurt, ginger paste, green chilli paste, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add water and soda and mix well. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves and saute for a minute. Pour in the batter and cover the pan and cook on high heat for five minutes and then lower the heat and cook for more five minutes. Open the lid and turn the cake and simmer for ten minutes.Remove and put the cake on a plate. Put sauce on top.
