Ingredients list for Squid Koliwada
- 10-12 medium Squids cut into rings
- to taste Salt
- 3 tablespoons Rice flour
- 1 tablespoon Ginger and garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder roasted
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- for deep-frying Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon Crushed black peppercorns
- to serve Green mint and coriander chutney
- 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander and fresh mint leaves chopped
Method
- Place the squid in a bowl. Add the salt, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder and lemon juice and mix well.
- Add the gram flour and mix. Add the yogurt and mix.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Add the squids, one by one, ensuring that the kadai is not crowded. Deep fry till crisp and golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them in a serving platter and sprinkle chaat masala on top. Serve hot with green mint and coriander chutney.
