Ingredients list for Spicy Rice Pakoras

  • 1 cup Rice boiled
  • for deep-frying Oil
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp + Chaat masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Peanuts crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • 7-8 Fresh coriander sprigs


  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Combine rice, ginger, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, salt, peanuts and gram flour in a bowl.
  3. Roughly chop coriander sprigs, add to the bowl and mix well. Divide the mixture into equal portions.
  4. Dampen your palms with some water and flatten each portion into small discs. These are pakoras.
  5. Deep-fry the pakoras in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  6. Sprinkle some chaat masala on pakoras and serve hot with sweet chutney and green chutney.
