History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.
Indian cuisine comprises of a number of regional cuisines.  The diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic group and occupations, these cuisines differ from each other mainly due to the use of locally available spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits. Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Samosa Chaat - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Samosas 4

  • Puffed rice 2 cups

  • Onion medium, chopped 1

  • Tomato medium, chopped 1

  • Carrot grated 4 tablespoons

  • Beetroot grated 4 tablespoons

  • Raw mango finely chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Masala dhana dal 4 tablespoons

  • Fresh pomegranate pearls 4 tablespoons

  • Green chutney 4 tablespoons

  • Date and tamarind chutney 4 tablespoons

  • Lemon 1

  • Processed cheese grated 6 tablespoons

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Sev 4 tablespo + for sprinkling

  • Roasted cumin powder 4 teaspoons

  • Green boondi for garnish

  • Chopped fresh coriander leaves for garnish


Step 1

Take puffed rice in a large bowl, add onion, tomato, carrot, beetroot, raw mango, masalachana dal, pomegranate pearls, green chutney and date and tamarind chutney.

Step 2

Break samosasand add. Squeeze the juice of lemon over the mixture. Add cheese, red chilli powder, salt, chaat masala, sev and roasted cumin powder. Mix everything gentlytill well combined.

Step 3

Transfer the bhelequally into serving plates, garnish with boondi, sev, and coriander leaves and serve immediately.
