Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Peanut Tamatar Sabzi - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Roasted peanuts powdered 1/2 cup

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 3 medium

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Garlic finely chopped 2 teaspoons

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar large pinch

  • coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon

  • coriander sprig to garnish

  • Rotis to serve

  • Lemon wedges to serve

  • Onion to serve


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté raw smell disappears. Add onion and sauté till golden brown. Add tomatoes and mix well. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or till the tomatoes turn soft and pulpy.

Step 2

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt and mix well. Add ¼ cup water, mix well and cook for a minute.

Step 3

Add sugar and coriander leaves, mix and cook for a minute. Add peanut powder and mix well. Add ¼ cup water, mix and cook for a minute. Take the pan off the heat.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with fresh coriander sprig and serve hot with rotis and lemon wedges and onion wedges.
