Ingredients list for Peanut Chaat

  • 2 cups Raw peanuts shelled
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin seeds
  • a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 Lemon

Method

  1. If using peanuts with shell boil them in plenty of water with salt and turmeric powder for 8-10 minutes.
  2. Drain and shell. If using shelled raw peanuts boil them in plenty of water with sea salt and turmeric powder.
  3. Chop onion and green chillies in a chopper. Chop tomato finely.
  4. Pound roasted cumin seeds. Mix onion, green chillies, tomato in a bowl. Chop coriander leaves.
  5. Drain peanuts well and add to the bowl. Add salt, chaat masala, red chilli powder and juice of lemon.
  6. Add pounded cumin seeds and coriander leaves and mix well. Serve hot.
  7. You can also serve this topped with chilled yogurt.
