Ingredients for Moong Dal Cheela-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Sprouted green gram (ankurit moong) 1 cup + to sprinkle

  • Ginger roughly chopped 1 inch

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Black peppercorns 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespo to sprinkle

  • Salt to taste

  • Asafoetida (hing) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Ghee for drizzling

  • Onions chopped For topping

  • Chaat masala to sprinkle

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

  • Green chutney to serve


Step 1

Blend together green gram sprouts, ginger, cumin seeds, peppercorns, coriander leaves, salt and asafoetida with sufficient water to a smooth batter.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick tawa. Pour a ladleful of batter on it and spread into a medium thick disc. Drizzle some ghee and top with some onions and coriander leaves, sprinkle some chaat masala and green gram sprouts. Cover and cook till the underside turns golden brown.

Step 3

Make more cheelas similarly.

Step 4

Serve hot tomato ketchup and green chutney.
