Ingredients list for Matar Gobhi Masti

  • 1 1/2 cups Frozen green peas
  • 2 cups Cauliflower cut into small florets
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 inch Ginger cut into thin strips
  • 2 teaspoons Gram flour (besan)
  • 3/4 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black peppercorns freshly crushed


  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick wok, add and cumin seeds and saute. When the seeds begin to change colour, add cauliflower florets, turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
  2. Sprinkle a little water, mix, cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add green peas and mix. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add half the ginger strips, gram flour and coriander powder and mix well. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add crushed black peppercorns and mix. Cover and cook till done.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with the remaining ginger strips and serve hot.
