Ingredients
- 1 cup sweet corn kernels (makai)
- 3 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
- 2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh mint leaves
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- A pinch of sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon hot oil
- Oil for deep-frying
- Fried green chilli for garnishing
Method
- Mix together sweet corn kernels, 2 tablespoons gram flour, green chillies, coriander leaves, mint leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt, sugar and lemon juice with little water in a bowl. Add the remaining gram flour and mix once again. Add 1 tablespoon hot oil and mix.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop small portions of the prepared mixture and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot garnished with fried green chilli.
